Pay/Pay Range: $21.30 hr to start/$22.30 upon hire

Summary
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks to include timely and accurate receipt, verification, storage, and shipment of products, materials, and equipment. Unpacks incoming items, checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of receiving goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items when necessary. Must be able to operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains shipping and receiving documents. Post weights and shipping charges and prepare goods for final shipment. May assist in training entry-level employees. Maybe be assigned to inventory control duties. The Shipper/Receiver is a member of the warehouse department and reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Performs receiving duties to include unloading trucks and visually inspecting packaging for damages
  • Visually inspect items against packing list and purchase orders to ensure correct parts and quantities are received
  • Collaborates cross functionally to resolve discrepancies
  • Breaks down pallets and re-organizes based on vendor lot numbers and expiration dates

  • Counts parts to verify quantity
  • Ensures all packages are labelled correctly
  • Stores raw material in warehouse racking
  • Re-stocks pulling locations
  • Performs weekly cycle counts
  • Organizes and consolidates inventory to optimize space
  • Operates manual and powered material handling equipment to deliver products and materials to appropriate locations
  • Collaborates with team to ship orders in a timely manner
  • Moves finished goods from pack out area to storage location
  • Wraps finished goods pallets and raw materials pallets prior to relocating upper-level warehouse locations
  • Ability to understand and accurately execute all shipping-related paperwork, staging and ERP transactions
  • Loads trucks and confirm correct BOL is placed on shipment
  • Maintains a clean work area, organized and 5S conditions always (i.e. free of trash, product in correct locations)
  • Unload trucks
  • Promptly at workstation per work schedule (before/after breaks/lunches/shift start & end)
  • Responsible for maintaining material and product traceability throughout the shipping/receiving process
  • Adheres to all safety (including PPE), hygiene and security standards of the company
  • Identifies potential safety hazards and informs lead person or supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Previous forklift experience required
  • 1-2 years prior shipping/receiving experience
  • Strong experience with ERP
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • SAGE software experience helpful
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to become forklift certified
  • Ability to work overtime as required or requested
  • Effective communication skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to work under the direction of a supervisor and manager
  • Ability to follow established procedures and work instructions
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend intermediate to complex documentation, correspondence, memos, production documents such as drawings, routings, labeling and instructions 
  • Basic math skills
  • Intermediate computer skills required for data entry, time off requests, email, Microsoft Office (excel, outlooks, word), ERP (Issuing Material and Labor)
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Understanding of FIFO concepts
  • Ability to identify expiration dates

Environmental Conditions:
A standard warehouse environment requiring the frequent use of computers and telephones. Time in the plant areas would involve moderate temperatures, clean room environment and the presence of machinery and power lifts.

Physical Capabilities:
Lifting of items up to 40 pounds may be required. Requires warehouse work with ability to handle physical requirements, including, but not limited to, repeated bending, stretching, twisting, and lifting.
