Job Description
Title: Operations Clerk
Type of Placement: Temp to Hire
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- · Sell products to customers at the wholesale desk.
- · Prepare orders for customers often requiring freezer runs for wholesale customers.
- · Cleans area of assignment.
- · Responsible for cash transactions of retail and wholesale customers.
- · Takes telephone sales orders and expedites these orders in an efficient and timely manner.
- · Stocks bread and other refrigerator products for use in daily sales.
- · Keeps accurate and legible account of orders and sales transactions in writing.
- · Responsible for keeping the desk area neat, clean and orderly.
- · Completes nightly set-up for Jobber bread orders. PM
- · Ships Jobbers on Sunday morning (if needed for scheduling) PM
- · Follows GMP’s standards.
- · Follows safety guidelines established in accordance with OSHA.
- · Completes other tasks and assignments as required and needed.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a sales, service, or customer-facing role
- Valid forklift license preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High energy level with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Ability to multitask and resolve issues quickly and effectively
REGULATORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Member of the facility Safety Team
- Upholds food safety and regulatory compliance standards
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regular bending and reaching
- Frequent lifting of items up to 50 lbs (including overhead lifting)
- Continuous walking and standing throughout the shift
- Frequent speaking and listening
- Regular use of vision (close and distance)
- Pushing and pulling bakery carts and equipment as needed
- Climbing step stools/ladders when required
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels
