Domestic & International Shipping Coordinator
 
Temp-Hire
1st SHIFT (8:30am-5:00pm) Monday through Friday
 
SUMMARY: 
As the Domestic & International Shipping Coordinator your day will fly by in this busy and interesting shipping position. Learn and use Visual manufacturing software, have ownership to maintain and organize the shipping area, and perfect your international shipping skills. Multi-tasking skills, being organized, and maintaining a neat work area are keys to success in this role.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Record shipping orders in the computer systems and label and pack items for shipping.
  • Use computer hardware and software to generate pack slips, labels, and BOL. Check items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
  • Maintain and organize adequate shipping supplies.
  • Ensure the shipping area is always organized, and clean and meets compliance factors.
  • Arrange and complete documentation for all shipments, by entering freight costs and tracking information based on customer order entry notes.
  • Manage the high volume of daily emails and ascertain the level of relevance so the focus can be where needed.
  • Stage the items to be shipped in a manner to facilitate proper workflow and maximum utilization of the shipping vehicle.
  • Make decisions related to domestic or international carriers and determine the best one to use.
  • Maintain detailed records of receipt and shipment and distribute or file records as necessary.
  • Research issues of receipt or shipment as needed and produce appropriate records to verify the location of the items in question.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Two years minimum experience in prior Shipper position. International shipping knowledge a must.
 
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Proficient in Domestic Shipping and International Shipping – creating invoices, basic knowledge of customs, etc.
  • Knowledge of secure shipping methods and procedures.
  • Ability to learn and use Visual Manufacturing software.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Superior organizational and documentation skills.
  • Assist with work assignments in the destruction process as needed.
  • Proficient with MS Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to operate an electrical and sit-down forklift.
 
Environmental Conditions: 
The majority of the time would be spent in the facility areas with climate controlled moderate temperatures.
 
Physical Capabilities: 
Frequently required to stand for long periods of time, walk, stretching, twisting, bending, handling equipment and lift items up to 50 pounds. 
 
 
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 (Depending on Experience)
